"John Scoble of Plymouth being a souldier in the late warr in the service of the Common wealth was shott in the right leg by ye enemy with a bullett by meanes thereof severall splinters of the bone of his leg were taken out soe that he is disabled to follow his calling … It is therefore ordered that the Treasurer … doe forthwith pay unto him 40 s. for his present maintenance, And he to be farther considered upon procuring a certificate under a Commisionate officers hand & seale."
