‘Upon the peticion of John Phillips, a maymed souldier, who hath a pencion of foure markes per annum out of this county that he may have his pencion increased or a summe of money in lieu & satifaccion of any pencion hereafter, it is ordered with the consent of the sayd Phillips (who offered to accept of twenty nobles) that he shal be allowed eight pounds in full of all future demands & never more to have any pencion’
