Fol. 31: At a General Sessions of the Peace held for the county of Middlesex on 6 October 1648 it was certified by Sir Richard Sprignell Bt, on of the JPs for the county, that John Pelson served as a trooper in the county’s troop in service of parliament and was so wounded that he lost the use of his right arm and was no longer able to follow his trade as a tailor. It was then ordered that Pelson should be awarded a pension of £3 p.a. Now the court took Pelson’s distressed condition into further consideration and deemed his current pension too small, so they ordered that it be increased by 40 s. p.a.
