‘John Pearse of Dunchediocke a maymed souldier by a former order allowed 40 s. per annum as a pencion and to have also 40 s. per annum from the parish which the parish are unwilling to pay but are contented to give him 20 s. per annum. It is now ordered that the said parish doe pay him 20 s., And the Treasurer … form henceforward to pay the said Pearse fifty shillings per annum by quarterly payments.’
