‘It is ordered … that the Treasurers for maymed souldiers and charitable uses for the West division of this county doe pay unto John Pay of Treford in the same county, a souldier in the warrs of his late majestie of blessed memory, the yearely pension of 40s, the same to be paid by quarterly payments from the date of this order, untill further order of this court to the contrary’. Pay’s name is repeated in the list of pensioners which follows this order.
