"Whereas it appeareth … that John Northcott of Hatherley was a souldier under the comand of John Sheppard Lieutenant to Captain Bagster in the service of the common wealth who received severall wounds & lost one of his eyes in ye said service & is noe way able to get his livelihood. It is therefore ordered that the Treasurer … doe from henceforth pay … forty shillings yearly for his pencion & 10 s. presently in hand."
