Notes

The last sessions held at Thirsk ordered that John Morley should be settled at Kirk Levington and that the churchwardens and overseers there should pay him 12 d. per week. But upon further information, this court being partly satisfied that he ought not to be settled at Kirk Levington but at Faceby, does order that the inhabitants of Kirk Levington and Faceby are to appear at the next general sessions, there to make it appear to the court at which place by law he ought to be settled. In the meantime, Faceby were to contribute 6 d. per week towards his maintenance and Kirk Levington were to continue to contribute 6 d. per week.
