A soldier in the service of his late Majesty Charles the first of ever-blessed memory, and as a result much decayed both in body and estate. Robert, earl of Lindsey and four other Justices had in 1662 allowed Mason a pension of 40 s. per annum, but for the past two years his pension had been withheld. The court ordered his pension payments to resume.
