John Lase of Voychurch petitioned the court that he was a soldier for Charles I ‘vntill such time that the Late Rebells destroyed him, and since both by sea and Land vnder Collonell Thomas Morgan and since the wars ceased have have [sic] lived in service, and now being 8tie yeares of age’. He petitioned for some settlement from the parish. The court required the JPs of this allotment to examine his case and provide for him as they think fit.
