'Whereas upon sufficient certificate unto this court that John Housley of Lanckton hath behaved himselfe loyall & faithfull in the service of the late King Charles the first & also received divers wounds [and was?] disabled in his body in the said service, This court having taken the same into serious consideracion doe by this present instrument graunt unto him … a pencion of twenty shillings per annum, for his present necessity to be paid him quarterly by the easterne Treasurer … until further order of this court'.
