fol. 57v: Upon the petition of the Inhabitants of the parish of Buckland near Dover showing that John Horne was a distracted person and very poor in the Bridewell in Canterbury, who also had a wife and one child who he was unable to maintain, it was ordered that the Treasurer for Maimed Soldiers pay to the Keeper of the Bridewell two shillings weekly for Horne’s maintenance until the next Quarter Sessions, so long as Horne remained distracted.
