fol. 76v: Upon the petition and certificate of John Fletcher, showing that he served under the command of Colonel James Till at the siege of Colchester in 1648 and there received ‘dangerous wounds in his bely and other partes of his body’, meaning that he was now poor and could no longer maintain his wife and children, it was ordered that Fant be paid a gratuity of 10 s. and a pension of 40 s. a year.
