"Whereas it appeareth … by certificate under severall officers hands that John Evans of Plymouth did in the tyme of the late warr faithfully demeane himself in the service of the State who received a hurt in one of his hands soe that he hath lost the use thereof, It is therefore ordered that the Treasurer … doe from henceforth pay … three pounds yearely for his pencion whereof 20 s. in hand."
