"Forasmuch as it appeareth … under the hand & seale of Sir John Northcote Baronet that John Coomb of Crediton was a souldier at Stratton fight under his command in the service of the common wealth & was there shott in his right arme by meanes whereof he is disinabled to follow his calling, It is therefore ordered that the Treasurer … doe from henceforth pay … the summe of twenty shillings yearly towards his reliefe."
