"Whereas it appeareth … that John Browne of Broadhembury was imployed in the Armie of ye common wealth in Ireland, where he received many dangerous wounds by the Rebells of that nation, And haveing spent all his estate for recovering of his strength doth yet remaine impotent & is likly to fall into great misery & distress, It is therefore ordered that the Treasurer … doe forthwith pay unto the said John Browne forty shillings for his present maintenance & to be farther considered when he shall procure a certificate from any Commissionate officer."
