Bozeate was originally awarded a pension of £3 per annum to be paid quarterly, which was provided until Easter 1667, when it was stopped ('whereas upon consideration of the multitude of pensioners in this county not qualified to receive such pensions, and of the great charge of taxes and other contributions which lie upon this county'). The court was now satisfied that Bozeate was qualified to receive a pension 'for his true and faithful service in the late wars' of 40 s. per annum.
