pp. 146-7: John Bire of Berkhamsted, a poor old indigent person who formerly served his Majesty King Charles I in those unhappy civil wars, has now petitioned this Bench to be admitted as a pensioner and receive something towards his maintenance. The minister and several inhabitants of his parish have certified the truth of his petition. He is to have the pension formerly paid to Richard Tisdell of Berkhamsted, who is lately dead.
