On reading the petition of John Ball, gent., setting forth that he had served his late Majesty and his father in the civil wars in this kingdom, as well at sea as by land, and had now become very poor and indigent, and therefore humbly craved an allowance from the treasury of this division, this court was pleased to order the treasurer of the Marshalsea and maimed soldiers to pay him £3 for his present support and relief.
