‘Uppon the peti[c]ion of Joane Ellery of Hemyock wydowe the inhumane and barbarous carriage of the Lord Paulet did soe appeare against Henry Illerie her husband by executing of him for that he was in the Parliam[en]ts Armie, and shee and three small children nowe in great distress, w[hi]ch this Court takinge into considerac[i]on it is ordered that the said Joane Ellerye be paid five pownds by Mr Anthony Deputie Treas[urer] towards the reliefe of the said Joane Ellery and her poore children untill further course bee taken herein.’
