‘Whereas the kings majesty was gratiously pleased particularly to recommend unto us amongst others the justices of the peace of this county of Denbigh one Jenkin Griffith of the parish of St George … an indigent souldier to see him provided for’. He was admitted a pensioner and given the pension of John Puleston of Gresford: £6 p.a., to be paid immediately on the death of John Puleston – in the meantime, he was to receive 10s in the place of Piers ap William Prees of Eglwys Fach.
