Unfoliated: The churchwardens and overseers of the poor in the parish of Melling were ordered to ‘make pvision for the manteynannce & sustentacon’ of Jenett Hodson of Wennington and her 5 children. Her husband had been pressed into service in Ireland and left no means for their maintenance. They were to be given an allowance ‘weekly according to there wants & necessities untill the next Sessions of peace here to bee holden or further order bee made herein for theire manteynance or otherwise upon Complt made to any Justice of peace a warrant shall bee awarded agt them to take them bound to answer there Contempts at the next Sessions here to bee holden.’
