‘By the Petic[i]on & affidavit of one Jeffry Savage of Winslow in this county as upon a Certificate under the hand and seal of Captain Henry Browne of Stratford upon Avon in the county of Warwick, gent., sometimes Gentleman of the horse to the late right hono[ura]ble Spencer, Earle of North[amp]ton, and afterwards to James, Earle of North[amp]ton That the said Jeffry Savage served his late Ma[jes]tie King Charles the first under the Com[m]and of both the said Earls as a souldier & behaved soberly & faithfully in the said service And it also appearing that the said Savage is eighty six yeares of age & in a very lowe & necessitous condic[i]on.’ Savage was awarded a pension of 40 s. per annum from this Sessions onward.
