According to the petition of Ann Nixon, James Scott was in Colonel Scott’s regiment, and wounded during the siege of Newark. He was left at Ann Nixon’s house, and was unable to march away with the Scottish army. He had previously had a gratuity of 20 s. from the County Committee. Ann Nixon requested some compensation and Scott’s removal from her house. Warrant signed by Nicholas Charlton and John Hooper. Receipt endorsed with the mark of Zachary Nixon.
