"Whereas it appeareth … that James Cowne of Ugborrough was a souldier in the service of the common wealth under the comand of Maior Christofer Martyn & at ye taking of Sir Thomas Heles house at Fleet he received a bullett in his arme which cost him £4 for taking out of the said bullett & for curing of the wound, It is therefore ordered that the Treasurer … doe forthwith pay unto … [him] fower pounds."
