Fols 23-4: At a previous Quarter Sessions it had been referred to the present and two preceding Treasurers for Maimed Soldiers for the hundreds of Osulstone, Edmonton and Gore to consider the case of James Carding, who had petitioned the court for a pension. Sir William Bowles and Mr Walsh had now certified to the court that Farrell was a fit person to receive a pension and recommended that he receive 40 s. per annum. This was duly ordered.
