"Forasmuch as it appeareth … by certificate under the hand and seale of Collonell John Were that Humfry Snowe of Halberton was a souldier in the service of the Parlyament & behaved himselfe faithfully in which said service he received a shott from the enemy, whereby he is disabled to gett his livelihood for himselfe & family soe that now they are in great distress & want, The Treasurer … is therefore ordered to pay … fortie shillings yearly for his pencion untill farther order."
