"Whereas Henry Knowman of Culmstocke … being a souldier under the command of Captain Francis Freeman in the Regiment of Collonell Robert Blake at the seidge of Dunster Castle where hee received two dangerous wounds as by a certificate appeareth. It is therefore ordered that the Treasurer … shall pay him one pound thirteen shillings and four pence yearly … and hee is to receive one quarters pay in hand."
