‘Upon the humble peticion of Henry Hoskings of Honyton gentleman who is nowe growne very aged & infirme by reason of severall wounds heretofore received in his late majesties service Kinge Charles the first, beinge a Commission officer in his said service, It is ordered that the Treasurer of the maymed souldiers … shall pay unto him twenty shillings towards his present releefe & fowre pounds for this present yeare by quarterly payments the first payment to be made att Christmas next and if hee happen to survive this yeare the summe of five poundes yearly by like quarterly payments duringe his lifetime for his further releife.’
