He had 'faithfully served the Parliament for tenn yeeres past whereof seaven yeeres in the Regiment of Sir Hardresse Waller'. He was 'dangerously wounded in the Thigh att the late reducing of Jersey Island and nott as yett cured', and was unable to work. He was given 40 s. 'towards cure of his wound'. He had a certificate from the Mayor and inhabitants of Chard, as well as his petition.
