Notes

His former petition showed that for many years he served his late Majesty in his wars, and also Charles II in several expeditions against the Dutch, and during the time of his said service he received several wounds, whereby he is much disabled in his bodily strength. Not having the wherewithal to maintain himself, he craved assistance from this court, who were then satisfied of the truth of the petition and ordered him £8 per annum. Being further petitioned by the said Captain Henry Dunbar for an augmentation of his said pension, this court, being further satisfied of his good service, orders that his pension be augmented to £10 per annum during his natural life.
