"Whereas it appeareth … that Henry Cleake of Uplowman was a souldier in the service of the Common wealth who behaved himselfe very stoutly & valyant, but by a shott from the enemy in his side which remaineth yet in his bodie is now disabled to get his Livelihood & is in great poverty, This court doth therefore order the Treasurer … to pay … forty shillings yearly for his pencion till farther order."
