"Whereas at the generall sessions … held … the 11th day of January 1658 it appeared that Henry Browne of Plymouth was a souldier in ye service of the common wealth & received very dangerous & incureable wounds whereby he is disinabled to provide for himselfe & family, It was therefore ordered that he should have 20 s. for his present reliefe & to be considered after upon procuring of a Commissionate officers [hand] unto a certificate, the which he hath done, It is therefore ordered that the Treasurer for the maymed souldiers doe from henceforth pay unto the said Henry Browne three pounds yearely for his pention by quarterly payments whereof he is to have fifteene shillings at present."
