'Whereas this court did by their order of the 12th day of January in the 15th yeere of his now majesties reigne graunt unto Addam Bushell of Corfe Castle within the division of Blandford … a pencion of forty shillings per annum during his life if the same should not be duly revoked by this court. Now for that the court is credibly informed that the said Adam Bushell is lately deceased whereby the said pencion is become voyd ... and whereas George Gardiner is recommended to this court by three of his majesties Justices of the Peace residing in the said division of the same place for one who hath byn always loyall and faithfull to his majestie and his royall father and never deserted the said service for the said pencion (which recomendacion lyes filed upp amongst other the records of this court), It is thereupon ordered that the Treasurer for the easterne parte of this county doe pay unto the said George Gardiner the summe of forty shillings per annum quarterly as a pencion during his lyfe if the same shall not hereafter be duly revoked by this court, he haveing behaved himselfe faithfull and loyall in the late warres as is before sett forthe.'
