"Nowe for that it appeareth unto this Courte that Bartholomew Lowde of Chudleigh served his late Majestie and was wounded in the said service (by which wounds he shortly after dyed), And that Elizabeth Lowde his Relict is in great distresse and in a very sad condicion. This Courte doth therefore, in a very speciall manner recommend the sad condicion of the said Elizabeth unto the officers of Chudleigh … who are hereby required to take the same into their considerations and relieve her according to the said Statute."
