The court was 'informed upon the Peticon of Eliannor Eales late the wife of Hugh Eales of Twivant in Barkeshire... that she through & by the extremety of these tro[u]bles (her said husband beinge slayne & her husband goods plund[e]red by the Kings Army) is become very poore impotent & miserable, in soe much as she was forced to leave Barkshire, & was brough to Hurworth upon Tease in this County where she was borne, & where she remained for some tyme & was carried thence to Hilton nere Staindropp in ye said County of Durha[m] where her parents dwell. Nowforasmuch as her said parents are soe very poore & aged, that they are not able to maintain themselves but goe abroad in the Contrey for releife; Itt is therefore thought fitt & soe ordered by the bench that the Constable or Constables of Hilton afores[ai]d shall forthwith convey or cause to be conveyed the said Elianor Eales to Hurworth aforesaid that ther[e] she may be maintained & p[ro]vided for according as the law in that case requires she being borne there as afores[ai]d'.
