‘Upon consideration 'of the miserable & sad condicon of Elenor Astley', who had the falling sickness and whose husband had been pressed at Shottery in the parish of Stratford for parliament's service in Ireland, where he was killed, it was ordered that the Overseers of the Poor of Stratford pay her 50 s. to furnish her to travel with her child to Northwich in Cheshire or else allow her 2 s. per week.
