Fol. 38: It appeared to the court that Edward Leake of St Martin’s in the Fields in the county of Middlesex served parliament under the command of Sir William Fairfax knt, in which service he continued for four years. He then continued in parliament’s service for another three years in the regiment of Colonel Thomas Pride and then served in Ireland three years more under the command of Sir Hardress Waller. However, at the taking of Limerick, he received ‘diverse greivous wounds and mehaimes’ so that he was no longer able to continue in the service or get his living by his labour as formerly he had done. He was awarded a pension of £4 p.a. but because he had petitioned the court at Easter, he was also awarded 40 s. for the half-year since.
