f.20: Ordered by the Earl of Essex that £5 be paid as part of his arrears of pay to Edward Earwood, quartermaster of a train of artillery, who was very dangerously wounded at Crediton in taking up quarters for the train, of which he has for been a long time sick and has not yet recovered, and also he and his wife were stripped of their apparel and other necessaries in Cornwall, by reason whereof they are in much want and misery. Shusan Eardwood acknowledges receipt the same day.
