It is this day ordered that Mr Moody pay unto Edmond Whatly [Edmund Watlin], a soldier under Lieutenant-Colonel Whaly [Edmund Whalley] who was lately sick, and now recovered and returning to his colours, one fortnight’s pay, according to an order from the Committee for the Association. Signed by Sir John Rous, Robert Brewster, Thomas Tirell and Francis Brewster. Watlin acknowledges receipt of 35 s. on 13 November 1644.
