It was noted that ‘Whereas Dorothy Carr the relict and widow of John Carr did this day the sessions peticon the justices of ye peace in sessions assembled shewing and setting forth that her said late husband being a Capt[ain] was slaine by the Enimy the Scotts att ye takeing in of this Towne: And att former sessions was releived According to Act of Parliam[en]t: and had 14d p[er] week ordered to be paid out of ye p[ar]ish of All Scts within this Towne. And that W[illia]m Coulson was Appoynted Accordingly as Treasurer to receive the same of the Church wardens of ye s[ai]d p[ar]ish: w[hi]ch he did receive & pay untill Mr John Fell and others came in to be Church wardens who refused to pay the same; soe that there is in arreare for severall Monthes: And Therefore ever pray for remedy and redresse: whereupon the justices of the peace'. It was ordered 'In open sessions takeing ye sadd estate and condicon of ye Peticoner into consideracon doe therefore order that the said Church wardens and overseers of ye parish of All Saints doe and shall within eight dayes next following pay unto ye said Dorothy Carr All such monyes as is due and an arreare unto her upon the said order: That then upon non performance hereof (upon complaint being made) The said present Church wardens and overseers to be de[a]lt withal and p[ro]ceaded ag[ains]t As the Law requires and Appoynt in yt case'.
