"Wheras it appeareth that Daniell Potter of Hemiock was imployed in the service of ye Common Wealth under the commaund of Colonell Ceely late Governor of Lyme in which service he received a very dangerous wound in one of his armes insomuch as he hath lost the use thereof. And being afterwards imployed in the said service under the comand of Colonell Needham lying against Colchester he there received many more wounds whereby he is become impotent and decayed in his body & altogeather unable to get his maintenance. It is therefore ordered that the Treasurer … doe forthwith pay … forty shillings for his present maintenance & he is farther to be considered of when he shall procure a certificate from any Commissionate officer."
