"Whereas Anthony Taylor of Collompton was a souldier in the service of the Common wealth both in England and Ireland by the space of 12 yeares in which he received many dangerous wounds in his head & in other places of his body by meanes whereof he has become distracted & in a sad & miserable condicion, It is therefore ordered that the Treasurer … shall forthwith pay … forty shillings, & he to be farther considered when he shall procure a certificate under the hand … of a Commissionate officer."
