Her husband, Captain Edward Nethercotes, served parliament as a captain of dragoons under the command of Colonel Francis Thornhagh. Edward lost his life in that service, as was recorded as very well known by some of the Justices here present. The court ordered that Anne should have a pension of £5 per annum, financed out of the county stock, and also all the arrears (of £2 15 s. 4 d. per year) due to the Treasurers for Maimed Soldiers from the town of Newark since the year 1646. The Treasurers were ordered to pay her as soon as they received the contribution from Newark.
