It appeared to the court that Anne Lewys was the widow of Charles Lewys, formerly of the parish of St James Duke’s Place, who had served as a soldier under the command of Major Pearsey in his late Majesty’s wars in the west of England and afterwards as a lieutenant under the command of Sir Thomas Middleton in Denbighshire. It appeared that Anne was now aged and in great want. It was therefore ordered that she have a pension of 50 shillings a year.
