Notes

It appeared to the court that Anne Goodwin was the widow of John Goodwin, who had formerly lived in the parish of St Andrew Holborn and had served in his late Majesty’s wars at the battle of Edgehill, where he had his arm shot off by a cannon shot. He had also served in the wars of the present King. It was also apparent that Anne was now poor and aged. It was therefore ordered that she have a pension of 50 shillings a year.
