Unfoliated: The churchwardens and overseers of the poor in the parish of Tunstall were ordered to ‘make pvision for the manteynannce & sustentacon’ of Ann Tompson of Claughton and her 5 children. Her husband had been pressed into service in Ireland for the parish of Tunstall and left no means for their maintenance. They were to be given an allowance ‘weekly according to there wants & necessities untill the next Sessions of peace here to bee holden or further order bee made herein for theire manteynance or otherwise upon Complt made to any Justice of peace a warrant shall bee awarded agt them to take them bound to answer there Contempts at the next Sessions here to bee holden.’
