Notes

Thomas Melton had been a soldier under his late Majesty, and had received several wounds in his Majesty’s service which it is believed did hasten his death. This had left his wife Ann in a miserable, poor condition. The Justices ordered that Thomas’ pension of 40 s. per annum be transferred to his widow and continued for the time being.
