"Whereas it appeareth … that Thomas Bremridge of Hartland was for his good affeccions to the common wealth murdered by the enemy, who had a considerable estate determined with his life leaving Ann his wife with three small children in a sad condicon & noe way able to subsist, It is therefore ordered that the Treasurer for maymed souldiers doe forthwith pay unto the said Ann Bremridge forty shillings for her relief."
