Mr Andrew Miller of Chepping Wycomb asked for an increase in his pension on account of his past services to Charles II and his great age and infirmity. The Court refused to increase the pension ‘in regard it was considered the County stock could not bear soe great an Inlargment of the penc[i]ons and this might have provoked others to press the like favour, yet with regard to Mr Millers Employment and his usefulness in his profession tho by misfortunes reduced to distresses and want.’ He was awarded 40 s. as a ‘charitable benevolence’ with 2 s. 6 d. for a copy of this order.
