Notes

Andrew Clerke of Lumby submitted a petition showing that he was a soldier in the foot company of Lt-Col Tindell, in Sir John Rambsden’s foot company, and that he received several wounds and bruises and is now old and decrepit. The petition had been signed and attested to be true by two JPs. It was ordered that Clerke be admitted pensioner in the room of Henry Duffin of LedSham, lately deceased, and the money due to Duffin as his last quarter’s pay be given to Clerke as a gratuity.
